Forgive Me, I Was Not Me

Forgive me for when I hurt you

For when I projected your fears

You see I had left myself open

For the enemy and his demons were near

The more I pulled away

The enemy came closer

I became really desperate

And prayed to the universe

The enemy then took over

I was his puppet and he was the puppeteer

I had no control of myself

And was in much despair

I didn’t know how I knew

To bring my loved ones so much anger

I heard voices telling me

This is how I’ll be free

I tried to fight back

I did my best to take strife

But the day I gave up

Was the day the enemy almost took my life

When I woke up in the hospital

I realized I had sin

The Lord came to me so gently

And told me to come back to Him

That day I prayed

That day I read His word

I felt the enemy get upset

And I kicked him to the curb

I know Jesus now

Through him I seek refuge

He forgave me for all my sins

With Him I do not refuse

So I ask you to forgive me

For I was not me

I am a child of God

And through Jesus, I am truly free

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬
